AutoWorker Privacy Policy **Effective date:** May 21, 2026 **Product:** Chrome extension “AutoWorker” (the “Extension”) **Operator:** shopeach **Contact email:** hj007jacky@gmail.com By installing or using the Extension, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. We recommend that you also review the extension listing on the Chrome Web Store. ## 1. Overview AutoWorker is a **browser page automation** tool. When you take action in the Extension, it lets you record, edit, and run automation steps (Playwright-style DSL) in the **currently open tab**, and optionally connect to **software on your computer** or **AI services you configure yourself**. The Extension is **not** designed to silently collect data across the web in the background. Automation and page access happen only when **you create and run a task**, or when **you actively enable a connection** (local WebSocket, AI provider, etc.). ## 2. What information we process ### 2.1 Data stored on your device (`chrome.storage.local`) By default, the following stays **on your device** in Chrome’s local storage. **We do not pull this data to our own servers** through the Extension’s core features (unless you separately use online services we operate—which the current Extension does not require): **Uninstalling** the Extension or clearing its data usually removes this local storage (subject to Chrome’s behavior). ### 2.2 Web pages and tab content (only while automation runs) To record and replay actions, when **you run a task**, the Extension may use a content script to: - Read or interact with the **active tab’s** DOM (clicks, typing, reading text, etc.); - In some steps, collect page structure or interactable element information for DSL execution or AI orchestration. We **do not** batch-scan pages for advertising or profiling when you are **not** running a related task. Host permissions (e.g. `<all_urls>` in the manifest) allow automation on sites **you visit**, for flows **you configured**. Use the Extension only on sites you are allowed to automate. ### 2.3 Clipboard (if you use that capability) If a flow uses clipboard read (`clipboardRead` permission), content is used **only for steps you started**. It is **not** uploaded to our servers unless **you** configure a step to call an external API that does so. ### 2.4 Local WebSocket connection (optional) If you enable a local address in settings (example default: `ws://127.0.0.1:18080`): - The Extension uses an **offscreen document** to exchange job commands and results with **programs you run on your machine** (e.g. Electron / a local worker); - Data stays **between your browser and your computer**, not through a hosted relay we provide—unless **you** point the URL to a third party. You can change or disable this connection in settings at any time. ### 2.5 Artificial intelligence (AI) services (optional; you configure) If you choose **LM Studio (local)** or a **cloud OpenAI-compatible API** in settings: - For features such as AI orchestration or LLM steps, the Extension may send **prompts and context related to your task** (which may include page summaries, module descriptions, etc.) via `fetch` to **the endpoint you specify**; - An **API key**, if entered, is stored in `chrome.storage.local` and sent to **your chosen provider** with requests; - We **do not operate** LM Studio or third-party APIs you configure; their handling of data is governed by **their** privacy policies. Avoid putting unnecessary sensitive personal data in prompts. For cloud APIs, choose a provider and region you trust. ### 2.6 What we do not collect by design - We do **not** require an AutoWorker account for core Extension features (as of this version); - We **do not sell** your browsing history or module library; - The Extension is **not** directed at children; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. ## 3. Purposes and legal bases (informational) We process the information above to: - Provide and maintain recording, replay, and module management; - Connect to local workers or AI services when **you** enable them; - Comply with applicable law and handle security or abuse reports if you contact us. If you are in the EEA/UK, processing may rely on: **performance of our relationship with you**, **legitimate interests** (security and product improvement), or **your consent** where required (e.g. enabling optional AI or local connections). ## 4. Sharing and disclosure We may disclose information only in situations such as: Otherwise, we **do not sell** your modules or browsing content to unrelated third parties. ## 5. Retention - **Local data:** Kept until you delete tasks/modules, clear Extension data, or uninstall; - **Data sent to AI or local services:** Retention is determined by **those services’** logs and policies; we do not keep long-term cloud archives of that data for you (unless we offer a separate online service and say so). ## 6. Security We use reasonable practices in the Extension (e.g. local license verification, not committing private keys to the repository). Keep API keys and license strings confidential; on shared computers, consider clearing Extension data after use. No transmission over the internet or local network is completely secure. ## 7. Your choices and rights You can usually: - Avoid creating tasks/modules, or delete them in the side panel; - Disable AI or local WebSocket in settings; - Remove the Extension at `chrome://extensions`; - Contact us to ask about, correct, or delete records you voluntarily sent us (if you use a support channel). If GDPR or similar laws apply to you, you may have rights to access, delete, restrict, or object to processing—contact us using the email below. ## 8. International transfers If you use a cloud AI service in another country, your data may be processed there. Review that provider’s cross-border terms. ## 9. Changes to this policy We may update this policy and change the effective date on this page or in store listings. For material changes, we will try to notify you reasonably (e.g. store release notes or in-Extension notice). Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. ## 10. Contact us For privacy questions, complaints, or to exercise your rights: - **Email:** [Your contact email] - **Address (optional):** [Your business address] ## Appendix: Chrome Web Store “Privacy practices” quick reference
